Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Siliguri | Transfer to Phuntsholing | Leisure Day
Upon your arrival at the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra International Airport, get driven to Phuntsholing, passing by charming villages and lush tea gardens along the way. Once in Phuntsholing, check in to your hotel and relax for the day. Later, you can explore the Karbandi Monastery, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, or stroll through the vibrant local markets before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Transfer to Thimphu | Leisure Day
In the morning, check out and get driven to Thimphu after completing your immigration process in order to obtain a travel permit. En route, you'll also make a stop at Chukha dam. Once in Thimphu, check in to your hotel. Later, you can visit the Buddha Dordenma statue, standing at an impressive 177 feet. Additionally, you can take a stroll through the Royal Botanical Garden or explore the bustling Handicrafts Market to shop for souvenirs before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3
Thimphu Sightseeing Tour
Today, get driven for Thimphu sightseeing tour. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, a serene stupa built in honor of Bhutan’s third king. Next, explore the Motithang Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal, the takin. Marvel at the grandeur of Tashichho Dzong, a historic fortress-monastery that features numerous temples, chapels, and shrines. Discover Bhutan’s rich culture and heritage at the Royal Textile Museum and the Simply Bhutan Museum. Later, get driven back to the hotel.
Day 4
Transfer to Punakha via Dochula Pass | Punakha Sightseeing Tour
After checking out, get driven to Punakha, passing through the serene Dochula Pass, where panoramic views of the mountains and fluttering prayer flags offer a peaceful atmosphere. Upon arriving in Punakha, visit Chimi Lhakhang, renowned for its unique fertility blessings. Continue to the iconic Punakha Dzong, a stunning fortress by the rivers, and the Punakha Suspension Bridge, offering picturesque views. Later, check in at your hotel in Punakha for an overnight stay.
Day 5
Transfer to Paro | Sightseeing Tour
After checking out, you'll be driven through scenic Bhutanese villages en route to Paro. Once in Paro, visit Rinpung Dzong, a majestic fortress-monastery that houses a collection of sacred artifacts and offers stunning views of the surrounding valley. Next, explore Nyamai Zam, an ancient wooden bridge with historical significance and picturesque views of the Paro Chhu river. Afterward, check in to your hotel & relax for the day.
Day 6
Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Today, get driven to the base of the Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. Begin your 7-km trek through lush pine forests, with vibrant prayer flags fluttering in the breeze, leading you towards the monastery perched on a cliff. Explore the sacred site, home to meditation caves, ancient murals, and prayer wheels dedicated to Guru Rinpoche. After descending, you will be transferred back to your hotel for a restful night.
Day 7
Transfer to Phuntsholing | Leisure Day
In the morning, check out and get driven to Phuntsholing, with a stop at Chele La Pass, Bhutan's highest motorable pass. Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding valleys and Himalayan peaks before continuing your journey. Upon arrival in Phuntsholing, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can visit the Bhutan Gate, an impressive structure showcasing Bhutanese architecture, or take a leisurely stroll along the Torsa River.
Day 8
Transfer to Siliguri | Departure Day
In the morning, check out and get transferred to the immigration office of Bhutan. From there, switch your transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Bagdogra International Airport for your onward journey.

Know Before You Go

- Cancellation After Rescheduling: Clients who reschedule their tours or treks but later decide to cancel will be subject to our standard cancellation policy. Any rescheduling fees paid will be non-refundable.
- Images are for representation purpose only.
- ID Proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and upon arrival. PAN Card will not be considered as a valid identity proof. All foreign nationals must carry their passport as a proof of identity.
- Indians must pay the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of Rs 1200 per person/per night. Children below 5 years are exempted from SDF, while kids between 6 and 12 years of age, will get 50% concession.
- To obtain entry in Bhutan, Indian tourists must carry their passports with a minimum 6 months validity and make the payment of SDF.
- Plastic has been banned since 1999 in Bhutan, therefore, it is advised to carry plastic/plastic items.
- Keep your arms and legs covered while visiting a Dzong (fortress-monastery).
- Ask for permission from the attending authority before taking any photos or videos inside places like monasteries.
- In Bhutan, Tuesday is ‘Dry Day’. This means locals don’t drink alcohol on Tuesday. So it would be respectful to avoid alcohol on Tuesdays too.
- It’s illegal for tobacco to be sold in Bhutan. Tourists can bring cigarettes into the country, but can only smoke them in designated places.
- Bhutan does not have a micro (or nano) SIM card. So check your mobile device for SIM compatibility before visiting Bhutan.
- Ask your local guide to help you purchase a SIM on arrival, as Bhutan supports 2 networks: B-Mobile SIM and TashiCell.
- Credit cards are widely accepted in major cities and tourist areas. However, it is recommended to carry some cash.
- The official currency in Bhutan is the Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN). It is advisable to exchange currency at banks or authorised exchange bureaus.
- In cases of force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest, or other unforeseeable circumstances), [Thrillophilia] reserves the right to reschedule tours & treks or offer alternative itineraries to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
- Please note that prices are dynamic and may change in the peak season and on blackout dates.
- Any breakage or damage of any items in the stay property will be charged at actuals.
- Please note that the timings and duration of pick-up and drop-off transfers may vary based on certain factors like traffic, weather conditions, natural calamities, etc.
- Prices may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests.
- If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from the point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Thrillophilia will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
- It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance. Please note that the travel insurance is not included in the package price.
- Rescheduling Policy for Private (Standard & Deluxe Package) & Group Bookings: 1) If rescheduling is made 7 days after the booking date till 15 days prior to the date of travel then 30.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as rescheduling fees. | 2) If rescheduling is made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. | 3) If bookings are made 15 days before the date of travel no rescheduling & modifications will be made.
- Rescheduling Policy for Private (Super Deluxe) & Hotel Specific Bookings: No modification or rescheduling will be catered. A standard cancellation policy will be applicable for such cases.
- Please note that nn Saturdays and Sundays, the Phuentsholing Bhutan permit office remains closed.
- Please note, the provided vehicle is for point-to-point services only. Any extra usage beyond the itinerary will incur additional charges, payable in cash on the spot.
