Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Siliguri | Transfer to Phuntsholing | Leisure Day
Welcome to Siliguri! Upon your arrival at Siliguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, get driven to your hotel in Phuntsholing. Check in and spend your time at leisure. You can visit the beautifully detailed Bhutan Gate, or head to Zangto Pelri to admire the impressive statues of Guru Padmasambhava. You can also explore Karbandi Monastery, one of the oldest Monasteries in Bhutan. Afterward, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Transfer to Thimphu | Leisure Day
In the morning, check out from your hotel and visit the immigration office to get your travel permit. Then, get driven to your hotel in Thimphu. Check in and spend the day exploring the city at your leisure. You can stroll through Clock Tower Square to admire stunning Bhutanese architecture, or dive into the nation's history at Simply Bhutan. If you love nature, the Royal Botanical Garden is a must-see for its diverse plant life. Afterward, return to your hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 3
Thimphu Sightseeing Tour
Today, get transferred for a sightseeing tour of Thimphu. First, visit the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa remembering Bhutan's third king. Next, stop by the Motithang Takin Preserve to catch a glimpse of the national animal. Then, enjoy some shopping at the bustling Handicrafts Market, and explore the impressive Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery with stunning architecture and sacred temples. After your exploration, you’ll be driven back to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4
Transfer to Paro | Leisure Day
After checking out from the hotel, get driven to Paro. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend your time at leisure. You can visit Zuri Dzong Fort, where you can wander along its ancient paths and take in breathtaking views of the Paro Valley. You can also stroll along the banks of the Paro Chu River, or, for a touch of adventure, trek to the sacred cliffside site of Drakarpo. Afterward, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 5
Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery
Today, get driven to Ta Dzong, a historic watchtower transformed into a national museum. Afterward, visit the grand Rinpung Dzong, an architectural marvel. Then, get transferred to Tiger’s Nest and embark on your hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery. As you ascend, the trail leads you through pine forests covered in colorful prayer flags. Inside the monastery, you'll be greeted by intricate prayer wheels and murals honoring Guru Rinpoche. Conclude your day with getting driven back to the hotel.
Day 6
Transfer to Phuntsholing via Chele La Pass | Leisure Day
Today, check out from your hotel and get driven to Phuntsholing. En route, make a stop at the breathtaking Chele La Pass. Upon arrival in Phuntsholing, get driven to your hotel. Check in and spend your time at leisure. You can wander to Alapan’s View Point for stunning views, or marvel at the impressive Chukha Hydropower Dam. You can also visit Gumpha Mandir, known for its intricate Tibetan architecture. Afterward, return to your hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 7
Transfer to Siliguri | Departure Day
In the morning, check out from the hotel and get driven to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Bagdogra International Airport, making a stop at the immigration office. Continue your journey onward and this marks the end of your trip.

Know Before You Go

- Cancellation After Rescheduling: Clients who reschedule their tours or treks but later decide to cancel will be subject to our standard cancellation policy. Any rescheduling fees paid will be non-refundable.
- Images are for representation purpose only.
- ID Proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and upon arrival. PAN Card will not be considered as a valid identity proof. All foreign nationals must carry their passport as a proof of identity.
- Indians must pay the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of Rs 1200 per person/per night. Children below 5 years are exempted from SDF, while kids between 6 and 12 years of age, will get 50% concession.
- To obtain entry in Bhutan, Indian tourists must carry their passports with a minimum 6 months validity and make the payment of SDF.
- Plastic has been banned since 1999 in Bhutan, therefore, it is advised to carry plastic/plastic items.
- Keep your arms and legs covered while visiting a Dzong (fortress-monastery).
- Ask for permission from the attending authority before taking any photos or videos inside places like monasteries.
- In Bhutan, Tuesday is ‘Dry Day’. This means locals don’t drink alcohol on Tuesday. So it would be respectful to avoid alcohol on Tuesdays too.
- It’s illegal for tobacco to be sold in Bhutan. Tourists can bring cigarettes into the country, but can only smoke them in designated places.
- Bhutan does not have a micro (or nano) SIM card. So check your mobile device for SIM compatibility before visiting Bhutan.
- Ask your local guide to help you purchase a SIM on arrival, as Bhutan supports 2 networks: B-Mobile SIM and TashiCell.
- Credit cards are widely accepted in major cities and tourist areas. However, it is recommended to carry some cash.
- The official currency in Bhutan is the Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN). It is advisable to exchange currency at banks or authorised exchange bureaus.
- In cases of force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest, or other unforeseeable circumstances), [Vacation Kart] reserves the right to reschedule tours & treks or offer alternative itineraries to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
- Please note that prices are dynamic and may change in the peak season and on blackout dates.
- Any breakage or damage of any items in the stay property will be charged at actuals.
- Please note that the timings and duration of pick-up and drop-off transfers may vary based on certain factors like traffic, weather conditions, natural calamities, etc.
- Prices may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests.
- If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from the point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Vacation Kart will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
- It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance. Please note that the travel insurance is not included in the package price.
- Rescheduling Policy for Private (Standard & Deluxe Package) & Group Bookings: 1) If rescheduling is made 7 days after the booking date till 15 days prior to the date of travel then 30.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as rescheduling fees. | 2) If rescheduling is made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. | 3) If bookings are made 15 days before the date of travel no rescheduling & modifications will be made.
- Rescheduling Policy for Private (Super Deluxe) & Hotel Specific Bookings: No modification or rescheduling will be catered. A standard cancellation policy will be applicable for such cases.
- Please note that on Saturdays and Sundays, the Phuentsholing Bhutan permit office remains closed.
- Please note, the provided vehicle is for point-to-point services only. Any extra usage beyond the itinerary will incur additional charges, payable in cash on the spot.
